A&W Distributors was referred to me by a current local client. Angie and Wayne had been through a couple of bad experiences regarding building a website so they were naturally hesitant in approaching someone again. Wayne said he made sure he could meet someone in person and wanted it to be a local.
We had a meeting to discuss what they wanted done which was a catalog only site that displayed their current offerings. They did not want to sell online or to any retail folks. This was just a new way of showing their customers what they could purchase and a more efficient way of placing an order.
This was unlike any other e-commerce site I’ve done which includes prices, checkout, payments, etc. I was able to find a plugin that let customers add any products they wanted into an ‘Enquiry Cart’, which is essentially an email that includes a photo and SKU that A&W can then print and pick from. This makes it cleaner and easier than having them either phoned in or texted or emailed.
They did not have a logo, so I created a retro looking one for them as their business began in 1975 by Wayne’s father. I also included a polaroid looking photo of his mom and dad on the homepage in the About section.
They loved the AI generated image I created for them which appears to show Wayne’s van pulling into a little country convenience store with his signal light flashing on and off.
Angie and Wayne were very happy with the turnaround time and the professional looking site WRD put together for them and they are getting orders and compliments to boot!
